WINTER GUARD
Winter Guard combines the artistry of dance, color guard and performing. Students will learn to spin flags, while also having the opportunity to dance and spin rifle. Troy Athens Winter Guard consists of 2 co-ed teams that compete in the Michigan Color Guard Circuit (MCGC).
Under the direction of Tyler Sharpe, the Troy Athens Alias Winter Guard program has a long history of excellence within MCGC. Alias is one of the oldest Winter Guards within MCGC, having been registered for competition since 1989.

About The Teams
MS: This team is comprised of our Troy Middle School students who learn the basics of winterguard and develop their skills for high school, while still competing. No experience is required to join. JV: This team competes in the Regional A class. The team consists of middle school and high school students from Troy Athens and the International Academy East. No experience is required to join Alias JV. Varsity: This team competes in our highest level of competition, the Scholastic A class. This team consists of high school students from Troy Athens and the International Academy East. All eligible Troy Athens middle school and high school students are welcome to participate on the Alias teams. Those with the highest skills are placed on the Varsity team and those with developing skills are placed on the JV team. |
