ABOUT THE BANDS
Campus Band is comprised of students in 9th grade. After one year of campus band, students can audition for symphonic band/jazz ensemble, or can simply "move up" to concert band. Performances include winter and spring concerts. Participating in festival varies year to year, pending instrumentation.
Open to all students in grades 9-12. Performances include winter concert, band festival (pending instrumentation), and the spring concert. Literature is more advanced, and many students participate in Solo & Ensemble.
Open to all students in grades 9-12. Performances include winter concert, district & state band festival, and the spring concert. Private lessons are strongly encouraged before admittance into this ensemble. This is an advanced-placement style class performing collegiate-level music with a majority of students participating in Solo & Ensemble and advancing to the state level. Chamber ensembles are organized through Symphonic Band.
Students will perform in the community when opportunities present itself, including winter/spring concerts, state jazz festival, dinner dance, CMU jazz festival, and Cliff Bells. Class size is limited due to instrumentation. Auditions for the Jazz Ensemble is a separate process held in March.
